University of Wisconsin–Madison

The State of Wisconsin’s Biohealth Sector

This Symposium has been postponed. We will post a new date as soon as it has been identified.

Obstacles will be identified that impede translation of Wisconsin biohealth discoveries into viable business start-ups. We anticipate discovering and disseminating information that can inform public and university policy around commercialization of UW and Wisconsin’s intellectual property. This advances the Thompson’s Centers aims to support the University of Wisconsin’s role as a driver of biohealth entrepreneurship. Data and observations from this symposium will allow us to compile university and private sector resources to promote commercialization. In addition, we propose to record presentations and panel discussions for further dissemination, and produce actionable, evidence-based policy recommendations for state and university leaders.
